Dario Saric’s Sacramento Kings beat the Utah Jazz 105-104 in their first home game this season, and Ivica Zubac’s Los Angeles Clippers convincingly beat the Phoenix Suns 129-102 at home.
He secured the victory for the Kings Domantas Sabonis who scored a basket 6.4 seconds before the end. Zach LaVine led Sacramento with 31 points, and Sabonis scored 12 points and had a game-high 12 rebounds while the reserve player Malik Monk added 20 baskets. Dario Saric was humble in the Kings’ victory, in 15:42 minutes on the court he scored five points (1/2 field goal, 1/2 three-pointer) with two rebounds and two assists.
In a game in which neither team led by more than eight points, the teams squared off alternated in leadership in the last 4:17 minutes, a Utah took the lead for the last time with 28.1 seconds left at 104-103 after two free throws by Lauri Markkanen. Markkanen was the game’s top scorer with 33 points for Utah. George added a game-high 18 points and 10 assists, while Sensabaugh had 15 points for the Jazz, who were looking for their second straight win after sweeping the Los Angeles Clippers in the season opener.
In the first win at the beginning of the season Clippers led the way James Harden who scored 26 of his 30 points in the first half, Kawhi Leonard, who was absent in Los Angeles’ season-opening loss to Utah, finished with 27 points, five rebounds and five assists. Zubac played a little less than 25 minutes for the Clippers and scored eight points (3/5 field goal) with five rebounds and four assists, Los Angeles in the second half limited by Phoenix on only 7 of 24 shots, while on the other side he hit 14 of 21 (66.7%).
The Clippers outscored the Suns 38-23 in the quarter and led by 16 points at halftime, and they continued in the same rhythm after the break. The hosts are in the third quarter outshot the Suns11 of 17 (64.7%) to 7 of 22 (31.8%), creating a lead of as many as 32 points. Los Angeles’ defense limited Devin Booker to 18 points. The Clippers also forced Booker into three of Phoenix’s 18 turnovers. Dillon Brooks led Phoenix with 21 points.

Los Angeles Lakers won at home last night Minnesota Timberwolvesthe team that knocked them out of the playoffs last season, 128-120, and Luka Dončić played a great game scoring 49 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists. Austin Reaves added 25 points and 11 assists, and Rui Hachimura added 23 points. In Minnesota, the best was Anthony Edwards with 31 assists, and Julius Randle added 26 points and nine rebounds for the Timberwolves. Donte DiVincenzo scored 13 points and Jaden McDaniels had 10 for Minnesota, which is 1-1 on the road in its season opener and will face the Eastern Conference champion Indiana Pacers in its first home game on Sunday. The Lakers finished the first half, in which Dončić scored 32 points, with a 14-4 run and went into halftime with a 68-63 lead. They are in the third quarter took advantage of the series 13-6 for their first double-digit lead at 97-86, and in the last they had a 108-94 lead that Minnesota couldn’t catch.
Portland Trail Blazers outplayed away from home with 139-119 Golden State Warriors for whom this is the first loss in three games of the new NBA season. Stephen Curry hit seven 3-pointers and scored 35 points before exiting with 9:21 left in the game. Curry scored 42 points the night before in Golden State’s 137-131 overtime victory over the visiting Denver Nuggets. Jonathan Kuminga had 16 points and eight rebounds, Jimmy Butler III added 14 points, and Draymond Green had 12 points for the Warriors.
The Miami Heat “dismantled” the Memphis Grizzlies away with 146-114, after scoring 86 points in the half. The best individual of the winning team was Bam Adebayo with 24 tackles. Nikola Jokic added 20 points and six rebounds for the Heat, who had a 39-point lead at halftime. At Memphis, Jaren Jackson Jr. was the best with 19 interceptions, while Cedric Coward added 16 points.
Milwaukee Bucks were 122-116 better than the home team Toronto Raptorsand the most deserving of the victory was Giannis Antetokounmpo with 31 points and 20 rebounds. Gary Trent Jr. scored 20 points for the Bucks, and Cole Anthony scored 23 off the bench for Milwaukee. In the ranks of the defeated team, Brandon Ingram was the best with 29 points.
Atlanta Hawks won 111-107 on the road Orlando Magicand Trae Young hit two free throws with 21 seconds left to seal the win for his team. Young finished the game with 25 points and six assists for the Hawks, who trailed by as many as 14 points before outscoring Orlando 33-21 in the fourth quarter. Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 19 points, while Onyeka Okongwu had 17 points for the Hawks. Franz Wagner led Orlando with 27 points, followed by Tristan da Silva and Desmond Bane with 15 points each.
Detroit Pistons were better than away with 115-111 Houston Rockets thanks to Cade Cunningham hitting two free throws with 5.5 seconds left. Cunningham scored 10 of his team-high 21 points in the fourth quarter and added seven rebounds and nine assists. Kevin Durant led the Rockets with 37 points, while Sengun added 17 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
New York Knicks won at home with 105-95 Boston Celticsand Karl-Anthony Towns participated in his team’s victory with his second double-double performance in a row. The key was the second quarter in which the Knicks outscored the Celtics 42-14. Towns finished the game with 26 points and 13 rebounds. Jalen Brunson was the leading scorer for New York and the game with 31 points. Jaylen Brown scored 23 points, while Sam Hauser had 18 points for the Celtics, who are 0-2 for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
Cleveland Cavaliers were better than away with 131-124 Brooklyn Netsand Donovan Mitchell led them to victory with 35 points. The Cavaliers led the game by as many as 25 points at one point and held a double-digit lead until midway through the fourth quarter. Jarrett Allen added 22 points against his former team, and Sam Merrill also had 22 for the Cavaliers. With Brooklyn, Cam Thomas was the most effective with 33 points, and Michael Porter Jr. added 31 points.
San Antonio Spurs won 120-116 on the road after overtime New Orleans Pelicansand Victor Wembanyama was close to a triple-double performance with 29 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocks. Devin Vassell added 23 points, Stephon Castle 16 points, and Luke Kornet 14 points and 12 rebounds off the bench for the Spurs. Zion Williamson led the Pelicans with 27 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, while Trey Murphy III had a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
Washington Wizards also won 117-107 on the road Dallas Mavericksand they were led to victory by Kyshawn George with a career performance of 34 points and 11 rebounds. Anthony Davis had 27 points and 13 rebounds for the winless Mavericks.
