The Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected one of the betting for an extraordinary review of the verdict of the Cantonal Court in Bihać, which was confirmed by the municipal fees that the city of Bihać charges the Games of Games. Thus, it once again confirmed that city decisions on the collection of these taxes are in accordance with the laws of the Federation of BiH.
In the explanation of the judgment, the Supreme Court states that the Cantonal Court did not violate any Federal Law or regulation, and that the obligation to pay taxes for chances of happiness was based on a valid urban competing tax.
The Mayor of Bihac Elvedin Sedic expressed satisfaction with this outcome and said that this verdict represents the legal and moral victory of the city in the fight for fairer tax treatment.
“By this Decision of the Supreme Court, Bihac was very justifiable. Bookmakers earn the huge amounts thanks to the dependence of citizens, and for years, they did not contribute to local communities. This should no longer be tolerated,” Sedic said.
According to the data of the City Administration, ten legal entities with several payment points in Bihac’s territory this year is in charge of communal taxes in the total amount of 928,367,35 KM. Although most of them lead administrative disputes with the aim of challenging collection, case law, as they state Bihać City Administration, is now clearly going to the benefit of the town of Bihać.
“The verdict of the cantonal, and now the Confirmation of the Supreme Court, clearly shows that their attempts to avoid business in Bihać, must comply with the projects that will be transparently marked as funded by the betting”, Sedić emphasized.
As they say from the City Administration of the City of Bihac, this decision is an important precedent for all local communities in the Federation of BiH that try to receive legal mechanisms to receive at least part of the revenue that remains in their environments., Writes Focus.
