After the video of the coach of TKD Poskok Posušje, Petr Boban, spread on social networks on Thursday, in which he appeals to those responsible to stop the works at the Mokri Dolac stadium, which would endanger the working conditions of the already mentioned club, we contacted Mr. Boban and the mayor of Posušje Municipality, Antu Begić, for a comment.
Petar Boban responded to the portal’s queries Jabuka.tv on Thursday night, stressing how it is arranged meeting with the mayor of the Municipality of Posušje for Friday morning and how he hopes that at that meeting reach an agreement to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
Taekwondo club Poskok, as claimed by Boban, came forward in 2019 to the competition announced by the Municipality of Posušje i got a leaseas the only one reported, approx 260 square meters of business space on the first floor of the stands of the football stadium in Posušje.
According to the contract, as it was written, we were supposed to arrange that space. We did it, we put that space into operation and started using it. In the meantime, a kind of conceptual project for covering that stadium and I am not familiar with how he developed further. (…) The municipality, among other things, supported this project of ours and co-financed it, and we finished it. This year in the summer, when the Municipality announced a tender for the execution of the works with the company Mrvelji doo, they started the execution of the works.
We did not react until the situation arose that the part where our hall is, under the hall, the foundation beam is being undermined with excavators and preparations are being made for the foundations for the planned columns that would pass through our hall.
Of course, during the execution of the works, they would destroy this part that we arranged and put into operation, but even after those columns were installed, they would cause permanent damage to the space because it no longer it would not be functional in that sense and for the purpose for which we leased and arranged it, he told the portal Jabuka.tv Boban.
Boban adds how they are invested funds taekwondo club in equipping and arranging those spaces should decline during the years of the leaseand by this act of placing pillars through the hall, their efforts would be destroyed.
As far as I am aware, the Municipality of Posušje is the one that announced the public invitation. The municipality is certainly the owner of the football stadium and manages this south stand where are the business premises, and who gave the approval, I don’t know. This morning we received from Mr. Žulj, who represents the Municipality of Posušje in this project, that is how he introduced himself, a notice that the works will continue despite our request that suspension until certain meetings are held and guidelines are agreed on how to act without our club does not damage and not to allow him to work. However, he informed us this morning that he would contractors to continue with digging under the beams of the TKD home and the hall that the club owns on lease, and we are the only way we could block the work with cars and came forward publicly with the problem which we encountered. We are not left on the street. They are in the takewondo home tonight as well did regular trainings normally. In the morning (Friday morning) a meeting is scheduled with the mayor to find a solution that will be satisfactory for us as well. I hope that a solution will be found. We are not against covering the stand. We also have a problem with the roof leaking due to the wear and tear of the upper layer of the stand, but we are certainly not in favor of that made to the detriment of the taekwondo club which has been achieving remarkable results for years. 22 years have passed since the existence of the club. (…) I think that a solution to this situation will be found soon, and only time will tell what it will be. I hope it will be to everyone’s satisfaction, said Boban, adding that he will certainly respond to the invitation to this meeting.
All our next moves depend on the results of that meeting.
I hope that there will be no need for any interventions by anyone, that we will come up with some reasonable solutions and that we will engage in sports as much as possible, and as little as possible of such things, emphasized Boban.
An aggravating circumstance in this turbulent situation in which the club currently finds itself is the fact that on Saturday in Posušje and Hopscotch cup which will feature more than 500 competitors from five countries, and Boban answered us that all this will affect the organization of the event itself.
There are always some omissions because it is it is impossible not to have them in such an organization in such a short time, but we are ready for that too. We will try to make our guests and all actors of this tournament the less they feel this part that has exhausted us these daysbut there will certainly be some drawbacks. Among other things, we didn’t have time to deal with sponsors or things that we had last year, but that’s how it is this year. The most important thing is that the tournament takes place, that there are no major injuries, that everyone returns home happily, and they may the best win.
