The import of milk and dairy products in BiH last year amounted to KM 267 million, while exports were far less and amounted to 145 million.
The analysis of the state in the milk market and dairy products in BiH shows that BiH has a foreign trade deficit of 122 million KM in this area.
At the BiH market, about 65 million kilograms of milk and other dairy products worth 267 million KM is imported.
Compared to the previous year, imports increased by 38 million KM or 16 percent observant, ie by 13 percent viewing the amount of imports.
When it comes to milk and dairy products to foreign markets, 75 million kilograms of milk and dairy products worth 145 million KM was exported to foreign markets.

“Notwithstanding the exports recorded an increase, the foreign trade balance was in 2024. year was negative and was reached by 122 million KM. Compared to the year, the deficit is higher by 22 million KM or 22 percent”it is stated in the analysis.
The import rate of export imports was 54 percent and lower in two percent compared to the year before.
The imports dominate the cheese and curd with a share of 51 percent, followed by sour cream and cream with a share of 15 percent and yogurt and other fermented products with 11 percent.
Milk in imports participates with nine percent, butter and milk spreads with eight percent, whey with four and milk powder with two percent.
On the other hand, milk dominates milk with a share of 55 percent.
Following yogurt and other fermented products with 25 percent, cheese and curd with about 11 percent, butter and milk spreads four percent, milk powder one percent while the participation of whey is very little and less than one percent.
BiH exported these products to Montenegro, Croatia, Northern Macedonia, Serbia, while the most imported from Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Serbia and Slovenia, writes Capital.
