The consequences of the growing debt towards Slovenian viaduct could be huge in Bosnia and Herzegovina. While the final solution for its repayment is waiting, the solutions are requested to be sought for both Bhansa, which could lose control of the Bosnian airspace. No central bank was spared, and other debts from lost international arbitration disputes come to collection.
Blocked account and reduced salary employees are just some of the consequences that already feels Bhansa. If the problem is not resolved quickly, I could permanently lose control of your own sky – which is extremely difficult to regain when it is lost once.

Forto proposes a temporary solution
The Minister of Communications and Traffic BiH Edin Forto proposed that Bhansa is granted a loan from the accumulated state budget funds in the amount of 50 million KM. Bhansa would return these funds after unblocking their accounts. However, the proposal should support the Council of Ministers that ambushed on Tuesday.
“We are debiting the Minister of Finance that from the free funds that are unfit – considering the assistance – after the first quarter, we have almost 50 million KM,” Edin Forto, Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH.
Forto warns that this is just temporary fire extinguishing, not a systemic solution for multimillion debt to Viaduct. In parallel, the consequences are already being sent to the Central Bank of BiH, to which the Municipal Court in Mostar issued a decision on the seized property. Although the appellate procedure is underway, there is concern that the situation could jeopardize the payment transactions throughout the country.
“If this takes, our credit rating will suffer. It is currently a stable appearance, it will certainly be lost by the borrowing, and and the Republika Srpska,” Kemal Kozarić, former governor of the Central Bank of BiH and the Ambassador.
Dodik Hard: This is a corrupt story, RS proposed law
The President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said that the case “Viaduct” is an example of corruption, for which law office offices from Sarajevo and Banja Luka are responsible. He adds that the RS does not escape its obligations and that the legal solution is proposed.
“We don’t slowly say that it is a problem that there is unplugged money at the level of BiH, and the easiest variant is that the part that belongs to the payment. But they say it does not want to pay. Well, that’s our money,” Milorad Dodik says.
According to Dodik’s claims, former representatives of the PDP and SDS are responsible for signing the contract with Viaduct and SDS, and someone believed, won millions. This will, as announced, deal with the entity authority.
Analysts seek responsibility, the prosecution is still silent
“Republika Srpska knew what was signed in 2017. In Article 3 and 4 of the Constitution, I would clearly be involved. I do not understand why they are silent today,” says Svetlana Cenić, analyst.
The question that remains unanswered is: how is the company ViaDuct – without employees, without built facilities and blocked accounts – managed to obtain a verdict against BiH more than 110 million KM?
