The BiH Council of Ministers adopted documents for the establishment of a joint border crossing Rača 2 – Sremska Rača 2, which should speed up the flow of people and goods between the two countries.
Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia could soon get a new common border crossing Rača 2 – Sremska Rača 2, intended for passenger traffic and traffic of all kinds of goods.
The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the Report on the negotiations for the conclusion of the Agreement on Amendments to the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of Serbia on border crossings, as well as the Draft Annex to the Agreement on Joint Locations at Border Crossings.
According to the adopted documents, the new Rača 2 – Sremska Rača 2 crossing will be organized according to the joint border control model, in accordance with European Union standards, which should contribute to faster and more efficient border crossing for citizens and the economy.
The BiH Council of Ministers announced that the amendments to the agreement will define the category and status of the new border crossing, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, and creating better conditions for cross-border traffic.
“Amendments to the Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on border crossings define the category and status of the new joint border crossing Rača 2 – Sremska Rača 2, in order to strengthen mutual relations and cooperation between the two countries, by providing conditions for easier crossing and more efficient border control,” the statement said.
Negotiations between the delegations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia were concluded in March this year in Sarajevo, and the next step involves sending the documentation to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina for further consideration and adoption.
