US President Joe Biden sent his condolences to Germany after yesterday’s attack in Magdeburg, which he described as a “disgusting and dark event”.
“The United States extends its deepest condolences to the people of Germany who are grieving the horrific attack at the Magdeburg Christmas market yesterday,” the US president said in a statement.
“No community – no family – should have to go through this disgusting and dark event, especially just days before a holiday of joy and peace. While the situation is still under investigation, let it be clear: The United States will always stand with our allies against violent of terrorism. In the coming days, we will keep all those who were injured or killed – and their loved ones – in our hearts,” he said.
President Biden said his team is in “close contact” with German officials and is ready to offer all available resources and assistance if needed.
