US President Joseph Biden said in his latest foreign policy speech that he deserves credit for avoiding war with Russia, despite sending billions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine.
“When Russian President Vladimir Putin began his invasion, I had two jobs — one was to rally the world to defend Ukraine, the other was to avoid a war between two nuclear powers. We did both,” Biden said.
According to him, China will never surpass the US.
“According to the latest predictions on China’s current course, they will never outbid us, period,” Biden added.
He expressed hope that China and other countries will respect international rules.
Biden emphasized that the conclusion of an agreement on a cease-fire in Gaza and the release of hostages held by Hamas is very close, and that he will soon discuss this with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
