In the category up to 74 kilograms, Benjamin Husić defeated the representative of Nepal Aashis Bhandri 2:1 in the first round, after which the opponent led 1:0. Member of TKD Novi Grad Sarajevo eliminated Gabon representative Amar Cisse Moussa in the next round.
In the match that separated him from the fight for a medal, Benjamin Husić was defeated by the local competitor Zhaoxun Cai with 2:0.
The best ranked BH. competitor before this Taekwondo World Cup, Ada Avdagić, was already defeated in the first round of the category up to 53 kilograms. The British Jodie McKew was better than the TKD Sarajevo competitor with 2:0, it was announced from the FBiH Taekwondo Association.
The Association points out that on the fifth day of competition at the WC, Nadina Mehmedović (Taekwondo Academy Tešanj) defeated Chia-hsuan Lin (Taipei) in the category up to 67 kilograms, but was then defeated by the local representative Jie Song.
Muhamed Djonko (-68 kg) in the first round was more successful than Hadi Tiranvalipour with 2:1. After eliminating a competitor who arrived at the World Championship as part of a refugee team, Djonka was stopped in the next round by Cuban Brian Jose Canter Benitez (2:0).
The World Taekwondo Championship ends today, and a total of ten BiH representatives, led by coach Haris Husić and Gzim Nući, took part in it, according to the announcement of the FBiH Taekwondo Federation.
