The Belgian Francophones List “Le Soir” states that the mission will last until 31. January, and its goal is to strengthen the military presence of NATO in Eastern Europe, due to the rising security threats caused by the war in Ukraine.
Francken added that deployment comes at the request of Germany, and to emphasize close relations between the two countries.
The plan must still approve the Belgian Council of Ministers.
