Francois Bayrou Prime Minister said the overall debt of the country is “deadly” and that it is necessary to reduce the budget, while preparing for the vote of trust that could lead to the fall of his government.
Deferring his decision to convene the vote, which is expected to lose, Bayrou said, “The greatest risk would not make this decision, allow things to continue without any changes … and everything remains the same.”
– France did not have a balanced budget for 51 years – he added, pointing out that his government presented a plan that would enable France to “avoid the inevitable tide of debt that was pit.”
