The Dutch Airline KLM announced that it will cancel more than 100 flights planned for tomorrow, due to the two-hour worker strike at Schiphol Airport.
Workers in charge of loading and unloading luggage, towing aircraft, and communication with passengers will suspend work on Wednesday, from 8:00 to 10:00, and this protest is expected to affect at least 27,000 passengers.
Additional delays are also predicted, the nose occurs.
Passengers affected by cancellations will be redirected to the first subsequent available flights, KLM spokesman said.
The dispute broke out after the FNV and CNV unions refused to sign a collective agreement that KLM had previously agreed with three smaller unions.
According to that contract, a salary increase is planned from 2.25% to mid 2026. Year, a one-time bonus of 750 euros, an extended program of early retirement, and new arrangements for profit distribution, leads the Aerotime.
The FNV union specifically criticizes the offered salary increase, the lack of clearer rules for employees in physically demanding jobs, and insufficient agreements.
This represents the culmination of multi-month disagreements. The first negotiations between the KLM and the union were interrupted in June, and the attempts to strike were delayed or blocked by the Court in the meantime.
Meanwhile, the company managed to reach an agreement with pilots and other groups of workers, which further increased dissatisfaction among employees representing FNV and CNV.
It was also announced that on Wednesday, 17. September, another, four-hour strike, which could cause additional delays and air traffic disorders in one of the busiest airports in Europe.
