The Government of Tuzla Canton accepted the information from the Office for Combating Corruption and Quality Management of the TK on the implementation of the Law on reporting, origin and property control of elected officials, executive function holders and advisors in Tuzla Canton.
The Government pointed out that the information confirms the continuation of systemic work on strengthening transparency, accountability and preventive mechanisms in the fight against corruption.
According to the Office’s data, a total of 3,747 property and gift declaration forms were submitted in 2025, of which 1,744 were declarations of public office holders and 2,003 declaration forms for their close relatives.
It was especially pointed out that the holders of public offices recognized the importance of the work of the Office and the legal obligation to declare assets, and that there are currently no holders of public offices or institutions in the area of TK that do not fulfill their obligations in this area.
We would like to remind you that the Law on reporting, origin and control of assets of elected officials, holders of executive functions and advisers in TK applies to 315 cantonal institutions.
It is stipulated that all elected and appointed officials, at the cantonal and municipal level, as well as directors, their deputies and executive directors of administrations, public agencies, funds and companies founded by TK or cities and municipalities and advisers to officials, must declare their movable and immovable property.
In 2025, the Office issued 160 written invitations to public office holders who did not submit their reports in a timely manner, after which the invited entities acted in accordance with the Law and reported property and gifts for themselves and their close relatives.
– It should also be noted that the Office has so far initiated 109 misdemeanor proceedings, i.e. issued 109 misdemeanor orders to offenders, four of which were issued in 2025 – it is stated in the statement of the Government of TK.
As part of the control of property and gift reporting, it is added, the control procedure for 209 public office holders has been completed.
– In the case of 141 subjects of control, no differences were found between the reported data and the data of the competent authorities, while in the case of 68 subjects certain differences were recorded, for which declarations were obtained. In the completed control procedures, there were no cases in which the characteristics of a misdemeanor were determined in the sense of providing false information about assets with the intention of concealing the information – the report states.
As a confirmation of the correctness of the previous activities, it was also stated that in the report of the European Commission on Bosnia and Herzegovina for the year 2025, the Tuzla Canton, i.e. the work of the Office on the implementation of this Law, was recognized as one of the positive points in the field of the fight against corruption, he states.
