In the 17th round of the Premier League, Arsenal achieved a minimal but important victory away at Everton with a score of 1:0, thus returning to the top of the table.
The only goal of the match was scored by Viktor Gyökeres in the 27th minute from the penalty spot. It was adjudged after a VAR review for a handball by Jack O’Brien, and Gyökeres calmly converted the shot against the left post.
Arsenal created several chances, including chances from Saka, Gyökeres and Trossard, but the goalkeeper and Everton’s goal box did not allow the lead to increase.
In the second half, Arsenal controlled the rhythm of the game, while the home team tried to threaten the visitors’ net, but failed to equalize.
With this victory, Arsenal returned to the first place in the table, and in the next round they welcome Brighton at home.
