The President of the BiH Olympic Committee, Davor Komšić, signed a management contract today in Sarajevo with the newly elected general secretary of the BiH Olympic Committee, Antonije Tomić, who officially took over the duty of leading the institution’s professional service.
On that occasion, Komšić emphasized the importance of continuous development and adaptation to the modern needs of the sports system.
Modernization, flexibility and self-sustainability of the system must be at the center of the future activities of the BiH Olympic Committee. I congratulate the new Secretary General on his election and wish him success in his work. I would also like to thank the former General Secretary Said Fazlagić, who during the last three mandates initiated numerous processes and established quality foundations for their further development and improvementsaid Komšić.
Tomić thanked for the trust shown and emphasized that he will focus his mandate on improving the work of the institution and strengthening support for sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I’m sure we will to jointly find the best solutions and apply quality practices that will contribute to the future functioning of the BiH Olympic Committee. I am ready to work in accordance with the plans, decisions and guidelines of the bodies of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to organize the efficient work of the professional service while ensuring the quality, timeliness and legality of its activities. My key goals will be to increase the number of athletes and national teams of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Olympic Games and other major competitions, and to create the conditions for winning Olympic medals.Tomic said.
The appointment of a new Secretary General marks the beginning of a new period of activity of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with special emphasis on modernization of work, strengthening of institutional capacities and creation of the best possible conditions for the development of sports and the achievement of top sports results on the international stage, announced the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
