The Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced a public tender for the allocation of grants for the implementation of projects in the field of energy efficiency for the year 2026, worth 3,953,818 KM. The funds are intended for the public and private sector for projects that contribute to the reduction of energy consumption, the use of renewable energy sources and the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles. Applications are open until September 5, 2026, reports Akta.ba.
The largest part of the funds – 3,703,818 KM – is provided through LOT 1, which includes projects to increase the energy efficiency of existing buildings, systems and production processes, as well as the creation of energy documentation and the installation of photovoltaic power plants for own needs.
Up to 150,000 KM per project
Through this call, the Fund will award grants in the maximum amounts of:
30,000 KM for energy audits, feasibility studies and other project documentation,
100,000 KM for the installation of photovoltaic power plants for own needs,
150,000 KM for the implementation of energy efficiency measures on existing facilities, systems and production processes.
Acceptable activities include thermal insulation of buildings, replacement of carpentry, modernization of heating and cooling systems, public lighting, industrial processes, installation of heat pumps, solar collectors and other measures that contribute to reducing energy consumption.
The following have the right to apply:
- organs and bodies of the federal administration,
- cantons,
- cities and municipalities,
- public institutions and institutions,
- public companies,
- managers of collective housing buildings (for certain projects),
- companies that implement projects for their own needs.
The contest is not intended for individuals or projects on individual residential buildings.
Applicants must ensure their own financial participation, which amounts to at least 20 percent for the preparation of documentation, 40 percent for energy efficiency projects, and 60 percent for photovoltaic power plant installation projects.
A special LOT for electric vehicle charging stations
An additional 250,000 KM was provided through LOT 2, which is intended for the construction of publicly accessible charging stations for electric vehicles.
It is possible to receive up to 50,000 KM for one project, with a mandatory own participation of at least 40 percent of the total investment value. Administrative bodies, cantons, local self-government units, public companies and companies can apply for this LOT.
Applications for the public competition are submitted to the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund in person or by registered mail, and the deadline for submitting applications is September 5, 2026. The decision on the selection of the beneficiary is expected within 90 days from the closing of the competition, it says Acts.
