Osijek and Vukovar drew 2:2 in Vinkovci in the first, dramatic meeting of the 15th round of the HNL.
Osijek led two times with goals Arnel Jakupović (35) i Nail Omerović (55), but he equalized both times Alen Jurilj (53, 82).
Osijek opened the game better, had the initiative in the first 20 minutes, but Vukovar had the first big chance in the 27th minute when Puljić hit the post with his head from about eight meters.
The visitors took the lead after the break in the 35th minute. Bukvić took a kick from the corner, after which there was a crowd in the box, where he did best Jakupović and headed the ball into the net from three meters away.
The most interesting part of the match it was the start of the second half. First, in the 52nd minute, Matković had a great opportunity for Osijek’s second goal, but after he broke in front of the home goalkeeper Bulat, he hit him in the head.
The penalty for that miss came only a minute later Calhanoglu put in from the left side right on the head Jurilja who beat Malenica from five meters.
However, that 1-1 only lasted two minutes, Guedes broke through the right wing in the 55th and sent the ball into the middle of the penalty area where he was the most composed Omerovic and I hit the bottom right corner.
In the 79th minute, Matković was again in a likely situation to lead Osijek to two points, but his shot defended Bulatand in the continuation of the action, the home goalkeeper also saved an attempt by Omerović.
Those interventions eventually became even more important because it was in the 82nd minute Jurilj used one “candle” which fell into the penalty area of Osijek for the goal that made the final 2-2.
Osijek and Vukovar 1991 now have 12 points each, five less than the eighth-placed Rijeka.
Hajduk leads with 29 points, Dinamo has one less.
