A strong earthquake hit the northeastern coast of Cuba

An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 struck the area off the coast of Cuba on Monday, the German Geophysical Research Center (GFZ) announced.

According to GFZ data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers. For now, there are no reports of material damage or possible injured persons.

The American Seismological Center announced that the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.1, and that the epicenter was about 104 kilometers west-northwest of the city of Mantua.

No tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake, the National Weather Service announced.
