Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and countries of the European Union use table eggs of equal quality. Class A eggs from Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot enter the European Union market, unlike those used in the confectionery industry, i.e. chicken meat.
Capacities exist, but it is necessary to resolve open issues, among which is the sanitary slaughterhouse of infected poultry.
Sanitary slaughterhouse and compensation for damages in cases of salmonella occurrence in poultry are some of the open issues that depend on the export of table eggs, i.e. live chickens to the European Union.
“A sanitary slaughterhouse is a facility where animals that are positive for strawman are slaughtered,” said Nenoslav Lukić, Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the RS entity.
Manufacturers must not be left to their own devices. In other words, it is not enough to harmonize domestic legislation with European Union legislation. After the meeting in Doboj, the problem is also clearer, there is no agreement on who will finance the resolution of open issues.
“Obviously everything revolves around that and we think that the conclusions will go in that direction, but I would not prejudge this moment either,” said Mevludin Kahvedžić, president of the FBiH Poultry Association.
“A sanitary slaughterhouse is needed not only because of the easy line, but also because of the fattening of the chickens. Of course, the subcontractors are now left to their own devices, that is, the slaughterhouses do it their own way,” said Predrag Miličić, president of the Community of Poultry Farmers of the RS entity.
During the next year, the competent EU inspection is expected to arrive in Bosnia and Herzegovina. There is still work to be done before the relevant state and entity institutions and domestic producers, above all to agree on the financing of the resolution of open issues as requested by the official Brussels, writes BHRT.
