The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 112-104 in the city derby last night, and Croatian basketball player Ivica Zubac contributed to the victory with 18 points and 19 rebounds.
Zubac spent time on the field 32:03 minutes and with a shot from the field 7/13 and 4/4 from the free throw line came to a performance of 18 baskets. Tom added amazing 19 rebounds and one block. The best scorer of the Clippers was Kawhi Leonard with 24 points, and James Harden added 18 points with 10 assists.
Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 32 interceptions, 11 rebounds and eight assistswhile LeBron James added 23 points. The Clippers, who led by as many as 24 points in the second half, improved to 14-3 since Dec. 20 in a streak that began with a home win against the Lakers.
The Clippers acted like they did they control the situation until the Lakers finished the third quarter with a 19-7 run to cut the deficit to 86-72. Another 19-7 run brought the Lakers to 93-91, a little less than six minutes before the end, after a three-pointer by Doncic. Harden answered Doncic’s 3-pointer with his own and started a 10-0 run that gave the Clippers a 103-91 lead with three and a half minutes left. The Lakers got closer to 102-105 a minute and a half before the end after a three-pointer by James, and then The Clippers settled the game with Zubac’s dunk and Collins’ three-pointer.
It was tense in Philadelphia, where they are home The Sixers won 128-122 Houston Rockets after overtime. Tyrese Maxey scored 36 points, including key plays late in regulation and late in overtime, for Philadelphia. Dallas Mavericks achieved their fourth win in a row after beating at home 123-115 Golden State Warriors. Naji Marshall contributed to his team’s victory with 30 points and nine assists, and Cooper Flagg scored 21 points with 11 rebounds. Stephen Curry was the best individual of the Warriors with 38 points, eight of which were 3-pointers, while De’Anthony Melton added 22 points for the Warriors.
Portland Trail Blazers also achieved their fourth consecutive victory, defeating the home team 127-110 Miami Heat.
Shaedon Sharpe scored 24 of his 27 points in the second half for Portland and Caleb Love had 20 points for the Trail Blazers, who are 22-23. Chicago Bulls were better than the home team with 120-115 in Minneapolis Timberwolvesfor whom this is their fourth consecutive defeat.
Coby White with 22 points was the most effective for Chicago, and Josh Giddey added 21 points. Julius Randle led Minnesota with 30 points, while Anthony Edwards and Naz Reid scored 20 points each.
Charlotte Hornets won 124-97 on the road Orlando Magicand Brandon Miller scored 20 points to lead eight players in double figures. Collin Sexton scored 19 points, LaMelo Ball added 16, and Kon Knueppel had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who led by as many as 33 points. Orlando’s best player was Paolo Banchero with 23 points, while Desmond Bane scored 21 points.
