Police in the city of Maerkang closed a bridge called Hongqi to all traffic on Monday afternoon after cracks appeared on the approach roads and slopes and a movement of mountainous terrain was registered, local authorities said.
The construction of the bridge was completed earlier this year, and the contractors were Sichuan Roads and Bridge Group.
