JZU Dom zdravlja Tešanj and Tešanj General Hospital launched the first cycle of the School for Pregnant Women in Tešanj, providing future mothers with professional support, education and preparation for childbirth and parenthood.
The first lecture was held on Friday, May 22, 2026, in the lecture hall of the Tešanj Health Center, which officially started the work of this important project in the municipality of Tešanj.
As the organizers pointed out, the aim of the school is to provide pregnant women with additional security, answers to numerous questions and support through all the physical, psychological and emotional changes that pregnancy brings.
The project is supported by Municipality of Tešanjcompanies Medis doo and Center for Genetics NovaGenetics.
The Health Center states that the school is designed through two lectures for each pregnant woman. The first lecture is organized at the beginning of pregnancy and is focused on a healthy and safe pregnancy, while the second is held in the ninth month of pregnancy, with the aim of preparing for childbirth and the first days of parenthood.
“As a team of professionals, we are available to educate and facilitate all transitions that expectant mothers go through, to answer all their questions, to empower and encourage them,” said the organizers.
A particularly emotional message was addressed to future mothers through the words that childbirth is “a test of motherhood after which a mother can do anything for her child”.
The organizing team emphasizes that they want to change the way women view childbirth, believing that this view can influence a safer and more positive birth experience.
Applications for the School for pregnant women are made at the Tešanj Health Center at the Women’s Health Care Department, as well as at the Tešanj General Hospital at the Gynecology Department.
