Israel has stepped up strikes on Gaza hours after a ceasefire and hostage-free deal were announced, residents and authorities in the Palestinian enclave said, as mediators try to quell the fighting ahead of a truce starting on Sunday.
Gaza’s civil protection agency said on Thursday that at least 73 people have been killed and hundreds wounded in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire was announced.
