Speaking of the moves of HDZ and SNSD after the decision that Nebojsa Vukanovic is not appointed for the Security Minister, Zvizdić pointed out that the practice of the political connection of Dragan Covic and Milorad Dodik continues.
That alliance, as it says, acts like a system of connected containers – solid, permanent and multi-character.
“That partnership is nothing new in BiH’s political life. It has been clear that Covic and Dodik have a special relationship, who, although not all in the HDZ, still shapes the behavior of that party,” said Zvizdić.
He stressed that such a political positioning of the HDZ is problematic, especially in the context of European and NATO integration, which, in his opinion, should be a priority.
He also adds both within the HDZ, there are people who recognize the harmful cooperation with Dodik and consider it time for a new political course.
“The HDZ is currently in the ungrateful situation – on the one hand, they want to be presented as the proponents of European values, and further protect the political actor that encourages the secessionist ideas and undermines the constitutional order,” Zvizdić warned.
He also pointed out that the HDZ can no longer balance between two coalitions – one that slowly loses its political relevance, and others, new platforms for peace, stability and the European path of BiH, signed by the country’s pro-European forces.
“It’s time for the HDZ to decide which way he wants to go,” he said to the end.
