The match of the 14th round of the ABA League between Crvena zvezda and KK Bosna BH Telecom is being played in the “Aleksandar Nikolić” hall in Belgrade, and although the stands were not filled to capacity, the home fans tried their best to leave their mark.
One of the banners featured the message “Burek with cheese”, which caused smiles and reactions on social networks.
In a humorous way, the Belgrade fans decided on a well-known regional “provocation” aimed at the guests from Sarajevo.
It is not a classic fan conflict, but a kind of cultural-gastronomic outsmarting, which has been seen before at sports events in the region.
In Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia, the term burek includes several types, while in Bosnia and Herzegovina, burek is exclusively a dish with meat – a difference that often becomes the subject of sports jokes.
Despite the banner and jokes from the stands, the meeting took place in a fair atmosphere, without incidents.
