The best Croatian skier Zrinka Ljutić was left without points in the second run in the Austrian Flachau.
Zrinka Ljutić will not remember this year’s performance in Austria fondly Flachau. Ljutić started the race with starting number three, but at one point she remained in the back position, entered one door too directly and therefore had to almost stop in order to pass the next one correctly.
In that maneuver, she lost more than two seconds and reached the finish line 2.69 seconds behind the then leading German Lenom Duerr.
Leading Austrian woman Katharina Liensberger she had as much as 3.70 seconds advantage over Ljutić, while the second and third positions were taken by the Swiss after the first run Wendy Holdener and a Swedish woman Sarah Hector.
In the denouement after the first 30 skiers, Ljutić fell below 30th place and was left without another run. The second round will be without Croatian representatives, and is scheduled from 20:45.
In the previous three appearances in Flachau Ljutić was left without points. In her debut at this Austrian ski resort in 2021, she started with starting number 65 and finished the first run in 51st place.
Two years later Zrinka with starting number 17 had the third time of the first run, behind Petre Vlahov and Mikaela Shiffrinbut she failed to reach the finish line in the second run.
The same thing happened to her a year ago, when she entered the second run as tenth from the first run, but due to a mistake she was left without points.
