It is known that Peljto has not refereed the biggest derby matches in the Wwin League for a long time, as well as that it refuses to referee the teams of Željezničar and Sarajevo, and that is in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Judging by Zeljković’s statement, he will not tolerate the alliance for much longer.
“We have a situation with Irfan Peljt, and we have to solve it during the break in one way or another. He is regarded as the best referee in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but for a long time he has been avoiding refereeing matches between Željeznicar and Sarajevo because of the pressure he faces here in Sarajevo. On the other hand, I understand him, but this is a professional job and responsibility must be taken,” Zeljković said, then added:
“Peljto referees the Champions League, which he joined through the Federation. Similarly, tomorrow we can remove him from the FIFA list and he will no longer referee European matches. Regardless of his quality, UEFA’s rules are clear and it is known how it works. The federation provides referees for the FIFA list”.
“We want to support him, but also for him to show more responsibility in the domestic league, which is his base. We want him to take over as many key games as possible while he is in shape, because in that way he will also help the Association. When he does not judge them, then he is relegated that the Association does not want to delegate him for the best matches, and that’s where the problem comes in,” concluded Vico Zeljković.
