“Men aged 18 to 22 can freely cross the border during the state of war,” she published a telegram Ukrainian Prime Minister Julia Sviridenko yesterday.
The decision applies to all military bonds within that age group.
The Prime Minister stated that this measure was important and so that Ukrainians who have already been abroad allowed to keep the relationship with the Homeland for various reasons.
Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko explained that the aim of this measure to provide young men more opportunities for studying abroad, in order to later contribute to the development of the country upon return.
After the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine three and a half years ago, Ukrainian President Volodimir was greening the state of emergency that included a travel ban for all men from 18 to 60 years capable of military service.
Exceptions are possible only with special permits. Still, thousands of people left the country to avoid going to the front.
The new decision will not affect current mobilization. According to the applicable law, only men can be called in war older than 25, while younger ones can apply solely voluntarily.
