The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) invited everyone who still owns old banknotes of the convertible mark from the period 1998-2009. to check them and replace them in time.
These are 10 KM, 20 KM, 50 KM and 100 KM banknotes that were withdrawn from circulation and ceased to be legal tender on December 31, 2024. Commercial banks throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina are currently replacing them, and the deadline for replacement is December 31, 2025.
The Central Bank recommends citizens to make the exchange as soon as possible, because commercial banks are available in all parts of the country, which enables a simple and quick procedure. After the expiration of the period in commercial banks, from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2035, the replacement will be performed exclusively by the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina at locations in Sarajevo and Banja Luka.
