Today, the City of Tuzla sent an official initiative to the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the construction of the National Stadium in Tuzla. The initiative is based on a rich sports tradition, strategic location, demographic potential and unique tourist facilities that Tuzla offers.
In the explanation of the initiative, five key reasons were highlighted for choosing Tuzla as the location for the National Stadium.
“First of all, Tuzla is known for its sports tradition, and the football club FK Sloboda, with more than a hundred years of existence, is one of the symbols of that heritage. The city produced many prominent athletes who represented Bosnia and Herzegovina on the international stage. In addition, the Tuzla Canton is the most populated in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with over half a million inhabitants, which represents a significant potential for supporting the construction and use of the stadium”, according to the explanation of the City Administration.
The city of Tuzla, as the administrative, cultural and university center of the region, also stands out for its infrastructural advantages.
“Tuzla is strategically located in the northeastern part of the country, with a branched infrastructure that includes the Tuzla International Airport, which facilitates the connection and organization of international events,” explained the initiative.
Special emphasis is placed on the tourist potential.
Pannonian lakes, which attract thousands of visitors every year. The construction of a stadium near the lake would further improve the tourist offer and enable a combination of sports and recreational facilities. The national stadium in Tuzla would serve as a center for domestic and international sports and cultural events, improving the country’s sports infrastructure and promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina on a global level,” the initiative states.
Also, the City of Tuzla has expressed its readiness to provide logistical and institutional support for this project, inviting the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina to support the initiative in order to realize this project.
It was pointed out that the construction of the National Stadium in Tuzla would not only be a significant step for sports, but also for the social, cultural and economic development of this local community, and Tuzla has all the necessary predispositions for the realization of the project. With its central location and developed infrastructure, Tuzla provides connections with the rest of the country and international destinations, which would give the National Stadium a wider regional and global significance.
