U.S. President Donald Trump excluded the possibility of sending American troops in Ukraine, but hinted that security guarantees for Kiev could involve the air patrols of American and European battle planes.
“We won’t have the boots in the field or anything,” Trump said.
The U.S. president added that without the security guarantees of the “some kind” of the crisis will not be resolved.
“They are now ready to provide help in the air, but the presence of Europeans is expected to be mostly expected,” Trump added.
He said he believes in the possibility of maintaining a trillateral meeting of the United States with Russia and Ukraine, but he admitted that he was less likely to be a summit between Russia and Ukraine.
