US President Donald Trump did not hide his displeasure after Zohran Mamdani was elected as the new mayor of New York, saying that Miami “will soon be a haven for those fleeing communism in New York.”

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt confirmed that Trump had indeed followed the speech.
Trump, who was born in New York in 1946, was again the target of Mamdani’s messages.
– If anyone can show the nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that created him – said Mamdani.
The US president also mentioned Mamdani while speaking at a business conference in Miami.
Trump said that Miami “will soon be a haven for those fleeing communism in New York.”
– The decision before all Americans has never been clearer, we choose between communism and common sense – Trump said, adding that the Democrats offer an “economic nightmare”, while his policies would bring an “economic miracle”.
His speech was held on the occasion of the first anniversary of his victory in the presidential election over Democrat Kamala Harris.
– We saved the economy, regained freedom and saved our country together on that glorious night 365 days ago – said Trump to the gathered supporters.
Trump did not stop there, but once again directed harsh words at the account of the newly elected mayor of New York, saying that Mamdani represents the wave of Democrats in Washington.
– If you want to see what congressional Democrats plan to do to America, look at the results of yesterday’s elections in New York, where their party appointed a communist as the mayor of the largest city in the country – said Trump.
In a separate interview with Fox News, Trump said he was ready to talk to Mamdani, but stressed that the new mayor must show respect for Washington and its financial support from New York if he wants to succeed, reports DPA.
