In the last distribution of one-time aid to pensioners in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in August, beneficiaries of proportional pensions were left out, although among them there is a large number of those with pensions of up to 400 KM.
One of the government’s excuses was that pensioners with proportionate pensions were not included because it is not known how many there are.
The assistance was from 100 KM to 250 KM.
The decision on the distribution of aid was made without prior agreement with the pensioners’ representatives.
There are approximately 73,000 beneficiaries of proportional pensions
Proportionate pension is when the insured does not have enough experience in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to fulfill the conditions for a pension, but in order to fulfill the conditions for a pension, he needs experience achieved with other insurance carriers.
In the Federal Institute for Pension and Disability Insurance, we asked how many beneficiaries of proportional pensions there are, how many have pensions that are lower than the lowest in FBiH.
They did not answer us, but unofficially we learn that there are some 73,000 beneficiaries of proportional pensions in FBiH. Most of them receive pensions from the Federation that are lower than the minimum in FBiH, and the PIO Institute does not know how much such pensioners receive in total, because they do not have information on the amount of pensions of such beneficiaries in other countries.

– I think it is high time to resolve the status of those people with commensurate pensions of up to 400 KM. These people will probably never get a pension increase until they die. They are not recognized by the Federation or the country where they earned part of their service. For example, in Serbia there is no increase for them, in FBiH there is no increase, they do not. Well, they are left with that pension, which is approximately 400 KM, and there are some that are lower.
When the government mentions proportional pensions, it is associated with Slovenia, Austria and Germany. There are commensurate pensions of 2,000 KM each, it is true, but there are also commensurate ones that are lower than the lowest pension in the FBiH – Mustafa Trakić, president of the Association of Pensioners of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, speaks for Faktor, and adds:
– I was collecting data in ZDK about the beneficiaries of proportional pensions and 360 of them contacted me. I have their complete data on how much they receive from Serbia and how much from FBiH. I believe that other associations have done that as well. On Monday, I have a meeting with the Prime Minister of ZDK Nezir Pivić, I asked for help for these people, at least 100 KM each through the PIO Institute, to help them to some extent, he writes Factor.
