The sixth “Tobacco Penguin”: Krešimir Mrčela won the main race
Krešimir Mrčela from the Cetina Adventure Club (HR) is the winner of the main race “Imperial Penguin” in the traditional competition Tobacco penguinwhich was organized by the Puls Tomislavgrad Athletic Club.
The start and finish of the race were at the Tomislav Hoteland the sections passed through the snow-covered streets of Tomislavgrad and the forested parts of Kologaj. Competitors could choose between two categories:
- “Emperor Penguin”: 16 kilometers with 500 meters of height difference
- “The Little Penguin”: 8 kilometers with 250 meters of height difference
Results of the “Emperor Penguin” race
In the main race, the fastest were:
- 1st place: Krešimir Mrčela – Club Cetina Adventure (HR)
- 2nd place: Vinko Sliško – Hajdučka družina (BiH)
- 3rd place: Andrej Vistica – MK Marjan
In the women’s competition, she was the only competitor Josipa Baković from AK Puls Tomislavgrad, who won first place.

In the “Little Penguin” category, the results are as follows:
- Men:
- 1st place: Krešimir Tabak (AK Puls Tomislavgrad)
- 2nd place: Robert Hodzic (Ljubuški)
- 3rd place: Ivan Juric (AK Puls Tomislavgrad)
- Women:
- 1st place: Vesna Čavar (AK Puls Tomislavgrad)
- 2nd place: Mirela Babic (MostarRunners)
- 3rd place: Ana Zecevic (Rama)
Humanitarian character and participants
The race had humanitarian goal – the contribution collected is intended for the purchase of assistive technology for children with developmental disabilities from the Center A new hope in Kovaci.
50 competitors took part in the “Emperor Penguin” racemostly from BiH and Croatia, with one runner from France. In the “Little Penguin” category, 74 competitors were registered, also mostly from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, and one participant each from Germany and Serbia.
Awards and closing party
After the race, a joint lunch was organized for the participants at the Tomislav Hotel, where all runners were presented with finisher’s medals. The three first-place finishers in the male and female categories of both races received winning medals and cups.
