At its 105th session, chaired by Prime Minister Nezir Pivić, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton made a decision to dismiss the director of the ZDK Health Insurance Institute, Omer Škalje, and appointed Ahmed Kasap as acting director.
– The reasons for the dismissal are, first of all, the unresolved issue of the waiting list, especially when it comes to oncology patients, as well as the failure to meet the goals that we had as the Government of ZDK. We want to fully realize the promises made during the exposition – said Prime Minister Pivić.
According to him, all other promises were started or already realized, while this segment was at a standstill, and “the government has no intention of allowing citizens to be deprived of anything because of the work or inaction of any director”.
– This is proof that we are fully committed to ensuring that all our directors achieve good results – Pivić added.
The Prime Minister clarified that electronic booklets have not yet been introduced, which would reduce congestion during the verification of health booklets, which have recently been verified every month instead of every three.
– We are witnessing that these days we have extremely long queues of citizens who certify their passbooks every month. That is unacceptable. Such a decision was not consulted with either the Minister of Health or me as Prime Minister, so that is one of the reasons for the dismissal – Pivić pointed out.
At the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Government approved 9,352 KM in support to registered purchasers of medicinal herbs, 88,950 KM to registered cattle farms, 60,000 KM to purchasers and processors of chicken meat and 42,000 KM for unrealized requests from the previous period.
Through the Ministry of Economy, a decision was made to approve 300,000 KM for the refund of part of the costs for the organization of international fairs this year. At the proposal of the Ministry of Labour, Social Policy and Refugees, additional decisions were made to pay the previously approved 3.5 million KM in one-time aid to pensioners.
All pensioners of the Zenica-Doboj Canton whose pension does not exceed the minimum pension in the Federation of BiH will receive 100 KM each from the budget of the ZDK Government by the end of the year.
The Union of Demobilized Fighters of the ZDK was granted funds for co-financing the anniversary of the 3rd Corps of the RBiH Army, which will be held in Maglaj this year.
According to the Prime Minister, through the Ministry of Health, funds were approved for associations of diabetics and associations gathered around malignant diseases. 428,000 KM will be transferred to the Zenica Cantonal Hospital for the purchase of medical equipment and an additional 256,000 KM for non-medical equipment. The public institution Institute for Health and Food Safety Zenica was granted 109,416 KM for the procurement of vaccines against seasonal flu.
The University of Zenica has been given approval for the amended Plan of Enrollment for the first year of the second study cycle, which increased the quota for the Health Care and Management study program by three full-time, self-financing students. The total number of enrollment places at the University’s eight faculties increased from 274 to 277.
