On proposal of the Ministry of Economy, the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton made a decision on the approval and allocation of funds under a public call for subsidizing tourism infrastructure and superstructure projects. The decision approves financial resources in the total amount of 1,168,469.12 KM, intended for subsidizing tourism infrastructure and superstructure projects.
These are record funds and a large investment in tourism that will be implemented through a support program for a total of 29 projects in the area of the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
– We continue with the development of the tourist sector in the Zenica-Doboj canton. This time, after we created a framework for the development of tourism by restarting the work of the ZDK Tourist Board and removing administrative barriers to its growth, we are now going one step further. Namely, this is the largest amount that the Government of ZDK and the Ministry of Economy allocate for tourism. We hope that these funds will contribute to a significant improvement in the quality of tourist services in our canton, and that they will mean additional employment and the expansion of the capacity of our tourist offer – said the Minister of Economy of the ZDK Samir Šibonjić.
The right to use this incentive was granted to municipalities and cities, organizational units of the municipality or city (local communities), and associations and foundations whose dominant activities are related to tourism activities in the area of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and which implement projects of preparation and organization of renovation and/or construction, arrangement of public tourist infrastructure facilities and superstructures or recreational and other tourist facilities.
The total is approved 1,168,469.12 KM for subsidizing tourism infrastructure and superstructure projects in the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The funds were allocated to the municipalities and cities of Visoko, Zavidovići, Olovo, Doboj Jug, Tešanj, Kakanj and Maglaj, to the local communities of Buci, Olovo, Krivaja-Smailbašići, Asim Čamdžić, Stari Grad, Centar, Kovači, Matuzići, Gračanica, Raduša, Dubravica and Osova, and to associations and foundations such as the Mountaineering Association Tajan 1929 from Zavidovići, Mountaineering and Forestry Association Perun from Vareš, Guardians of the Bosnian Crown Bobovac from Vareš, Citizens Association Fojničani Maglaj, UG Hunting Organization Klek Zavidovići, Eco-Ethno-Archaeological Association Kula Gorica Zenica, Mountaineering Association Mahnjača Željezno Polje, Citizens Association Mountaineering Sports Association Poštar Zenica, Association Alternative Kakanj and Lifeguard Club GSS Kakanj.
This program represents a strong stimulus to the development of tourism infrastructure in the canton and contributes to the strengthening of the local economy, a higher quality tourist offer and an increase in the attractiveness of the Zenica-Doboj canton for domestic and foreign visitors.
