From the very beginning of the year, we followed major infrastructure projects, including the construction of the railway in Donja Jablanica, but also key political processes, including the trial of Milorad Dodik, as well as the drama surrounding the attempt to arrest him, which filled the headlines for days and agitated the public.
Our photojournalists were with the athletes in moments that will be remembered for a long time. We recorded the key victories of the basketball team of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the way to the EuroBasket, and then the performances at the EuroBasket in Cyprus. At the same time, the lens followed the celebration of KK Bosna basketball players after returning to the elite level of the competition.
The year was also marked by the path of the BiH national football team through the dramatic qualifications for the European Championship – from the brilliant victory over Romania to the unforgettable “occupation” of Vienna by BiH. fans.
The lens of Vijesti.ba also recorded social upheavals – from protests and road blockades organized by transport companies, to the daily struggles of citizens for their rights.
Unfortunately, the year was also marked by tragedies, as well as the dignified commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, whose photos strongly reminded us of the importance of the culture of remembrance.
This was also the year of farewell. The greats of Bosnia and Herzegovina left us. culture and music Halid Bešlić and Josip Pejaković. Our photojournalists recorded one of Halid’s last concerts and farewell to the music legend, as well as one of Josip Pejaković’s last interviews.
We were also there where celebrations were held on red carpets, big concerts and cultural events – but also where the dignity of the profession was defended, including a gathering of support for colleagues from BHRT.
