This initiative was first discussed a month at a meeting with the Director of the Institution in Sarajevo, and its goal is to provide adequate accommodation for 41 protégés from the USC, allowing them to be closer to their families.
– By opening new accommodation capacities for protégés from our cantonal, the quality of services and commitment to their needs would be significantly improved. The town of Bihać supports this initiative because we believe that it will positively affect the families and quality of life of the protégé – the Mayor Sedić pointed out.
Parents of children with disabilities expressed satisfaction with the possibility of their children to be closer to the home, with adequate health and social welfare.
-We’re rabrabated by this information because it is most important to us that our children are in safe hands and get the necessary care. The proximity of the family plays a key role in their daily lives – said Mirsad Hodžić, the president of the association “Joy of Socialization”, which has been supporting children with children with disabilities and their parents for almost 20 years.
The opening initiative of additional accommodation capacities in the UND is an important step towards better integration and support for persons with disabilities, and the local community expects further progress in its implementation.
