The commemoration was held in memory of 18 killed members of the unit, including its commander Jasmin Kulenović – the accident, according to which he had a name.
On that occasion, the memories of heroic days from the Defense-Liberation War period, when members of the IDČ “Havaria” without hesitation responded to the most severe tasks throughout the battlefield of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– Our unit was established in April 1994. year, after the Special Action was disbanded. We did not have our own zone of responsibility, we were already deployed where we were most needed. We never retreated – we went just ahead – said Fuad Abdijanovic, one of the former members of the unit.
About 120 fighters passed through the rows of IDČ “Havari”, and six of them were awarded the highest military confessations – golden lily.
The Mayor of Bihac Elvedin Sedic pointed out that the city and the state remain permanently grateful to the fighters who gave everything for the freedom of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– We can’t thank everyone enough of you for all that you gave to this people – in the first row for our freedom and the state you have won. There is no evaluation here who gave more – he who spent at least one day on the battle line contributed. We must continue the way you founded, build and defend the state by other means, but with the feeling of deepest respect for you, our died defenders and their families, as well as war disabled – said Sedić.
This symbolic, but the emotional commemoration once again reminded of the courage, the victim and determination of members of the IDČ “Havaries”, whose legacy still lives in the foundations of free Bosnia and Herzegovina during the commemoration.
