Russian forces have completely captured the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army Valery Gerasimov said tonight in a conversation with President Vladimir Putin.
According to the report of the head of the Russian army, Russian units destroyed Ukrainian forces that were surrounded on the left bank of the river Oskol, writes the Russian regime’s state agency Tass.
“Units of Battle Group West liberated the city of Kupyansk and continue to destroy Ukrainian formations surrounded on the left bank of the Oskol River,” Gerasimov said in a direct address to Putin.
Putin then asked in a meeting broadcast on Russian state television: “So that’s it? Are they done?”. According to TASS, the commander of Battle Group West answered that question in the affirmative.
Official Kyiv has not yet commented on these claims by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army.
