The Red Cross Fair is held in the park in front of the Faculty of Economics, Alija Izetbegović in Sarajevo starting at 12:00, where the stalls, counters and tables will be presented to the BiH’s Red Cross / Cross in BiH every day.
Aim of the Fair presentation of the activities of the Red Cross / Cross:
- Education and information: Providing visitors to the opportunity to learn more about the mission, activities and the values of the Red Cross / Cross. This objective means the expansion of awareness of the humanitarian actions of the organization, as well as providing information on how individuals can support or use the services of the Red Cross / Cross.
- Encouraging volunteerism: inspiring visitors to engage in the volunteer activities of the Red Cross / Cross. Through presentations, workshops and interactive activities, visitors can provide insight into various volunteering opportunities and show them how their contribution can make a positive difference in community and beyond.
- Promotion of health and safety: Providing educational resources and practical advice on first aid, preparation for disasters, disease prevention and other aspects of health and safety. The goal is to empower people to take responsibility for their health and security, as well as being ready to provide help others in emergency situations.
- Connection with the community: Creating space for interaction and dialogue between the red cross / cross, local community, civil society organization, the media, authorities and other relevant actors. The fair can be an opportunity for building partnerships, resource exchange and ideas, as well as to identify the needs and priorities of the community.
- Raising awareness of humanitarian issues: Focusing public attention to current humanitarian challenges and issues, as well as promoting the principles of humanity, impartiality, unity and universality, which are the basic principles of the International Red Cross / Cross and Crveno-Crescent Cross.
- Invitation to the action: Motivating visitors to take concrete steps to contribute to resolving humanitarian problems and improving living conditions in their communities and beyond. This may include donations, volunteering, participation in campaigns, supporting humanitarian projects, etc.
