At the age of 76, Rocco B. Commisso, the president of the Italian football club ACF Fiorentina and the founder and chief executive officer of the company Mediacom Communications, whose member is the captain of our national team, Edin Džeko, passed away.
The news of his death was confirmed by his family members, stating that he died after a long illness.
Commisso took over Fiorentina in July 2019. During the Covid pandemic, through the “Strength and Heart” campaign, he donated significant funds to local hospitals. Under his leadership, Fiorentina played in two Conference League finals and one Italian Cup final.
His lasting impression remained in the modern training center Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park, opened in 2023.
As a successful Italian immigrant in the United States of America (USA), Commisso built his career for almost half a century.
Mediacom was founded in 1995, and today the company is the fifth largest cable operator in the USA with more than three million users in 22 states.
Before that, he worked at Pfizer and ten years in the financial sector.
