The Ministry of the Interior of the Western Herzegovina Canton warns of increasingly frequent cases of extremely irresponsible driving on the roads in that Canton. After the driver who recorded and published a video of his driving at night on the Ljubuški-Mostar road was recently identified and punished, the police registered a new case of extremely irresponsible driving on the Grude-Posušje highway.
On parts of that section where the speed limit is 60 km/h, the driver of a BMW car with Bosnian registration plates was recorded speeding at a speed of 155 km/h. He published a video of dangerous driving on social networks, thereby further endangering traffic safety and showing extreme irresponsibility, the MUP stated.
All legal measures will be taken against the driver in accordance with the Law on Road Traffic Safety in ZHK. The police warn that inappropriate speed is still the most common cause of traffic accidents with serious consequences. Despite numerous warnings and preventive actions, serious cases of speeding are recorded continuously.
During the intensified traffic control action in the area of Posušje and Ljubuški, carried out on the night of October 11 to 12, 2025, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., police officers sanctioned 47 drivers for speeding, of which 27 were driving twice the speed limit, and 19 drivers were excluded from traffic for driving under the influence of alcohol.
MUP ZHK appeals to all road users to respect traffic regulations and adapt their driving to road conditions, in order to prevent accidents and save lives.
