More than half of the world’s countries have declared a boycott of the dollar to one degree or another – until the end of 2024, as 14 more countries have embarked on the path of de-dollarization, so the number of opponents of the American currency has exceeded the number of its supporters, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti.
All countries can be conditionally divided into three groups. The first, and now not so numerous with 94 countries, are those whose financial authorities did not speak openly against the dollar and did not introduce any restrictive measures. This includes countries where the US currency is even used as the official currency: for example, Panama, the Marshall Islands, El Salvador and some other small states.
The second group, i.e. 46 countries, are those that actively switch to settlements with partners in national currencies or limit the circulation of dollars within the country, driven by concerns for financial stability.
Finally, the third group with 53 countries are those who openly oppose the dollar and invite the rest of the world to join in weakening its hegemony, reports the site ria.ru.
