Handball club Čelik from Zenica, after a one-year break, will today host the 11th memorial tournament “Zaim Kobilica and Pane Škrbić” in the City Arena “Husejin Smajlović”, in which Žepče, Kakanj and Donji Vakuf will also participate.
By organizing this tournament, Čelik remembers its former player and representative of Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina, player and coaching legend of the Italian club Prato, Zaim Kobilica, and this year, with the tournament, they also remember the president Panet Škrbić, who passed away last year, who was the president of the club several times.
All participants are members of the First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the first match, in which the hosts Čelik and Kakanj meet, will be played at 10:30 a.m. The second semi-final match, Žepče – Donji Vakuf, will be played at 12:30 p.m., and between those two matches, at 12 p.m., the opening ceremony will be held.
The match for 3rd place, in which the defeated teams from the semi-finals will play, is scheduled for 15:00, and the final at 17:00.
The winner of the 10th memorial tournament, which was played in mid-August 2023, was Vogošća, which defeated Krivaja from Zavidovići in the final with 28:20.
Živinički Konjuh, in the match for 3rd place, defeated Čelik with 37:32. Čelik played in that tournament as a member of the Premier League of BiH, to which he had returned after a five-year break, but due to financial problems, they were forced to withdraw from the league.
