Barcelona striker Lamine Yamal is worth 343 million euros and is the most expensive footballer in the world, and Croatian defender Joško Guardiol is among the hundred most valuable, the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) reported in a report published on Wednesday.
That statistical office, based in Switzerland, has its own price calculation methodology according to which it is only one Croat among the hundred most expensive players.
Josko Guardiolthe 23-year-old defender, who injured his leg playing for Manchester City on Sunday, has been assessed at EUR 95.3 million. This makes it 28th in terms of value in the world.
Lamine Yamalthe 18-year-old European champion with Spain, leads the list in front of strikers Erling Haaland worth 255 million euros and Kylian Mbappe with a price of 201 million.
