Everything is ready when it comes to the Bill on Consumers in the Federation, but the session of the Government of FBiH is awaited, which will never happen.
The Ministry of Trade in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina says that the legal proposal has been ready for a long time, everything has been finalized and that they have received all the necessary opinions.
– Only the FBiH Government is left, but there is no way to schedule a session – this ministry says to Faktor.
They point out that the law is modern, harmonized with EU directives, that it enables the return of goods within 14 days if the buyer changes his mind. Also, the proposed law enables greater consumer protection in the digital environment, as well as transparency of prices through public publication and stricter punishment of unfair business practices.
Let us remind you that the preliminary draft was given the “green light” by the BiH Competition Council, and the FBiH Ministry of Trade expects that it will soon be in the parliamentary procedure.
At the moment, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina still functions according to the outdated law from 2006.
The BiH Competition Council says there is nothing in dispute and that the preliminary draft is in compliance with the Law on Competition.
Earlier, Marin Bago, president of the Futura Consumer Association, told Faktor that the law is good, but the question is how far it will be implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to the fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not a member of the EU and that its laws are much milder. Factor.
