After the meeting of the leadership of KK Bosna with the leaders of Sarajevo County, the City of Sarajevo and Sarajevo municipalities, held on Thursday, June 11, in the premises of the Sarajevo County Government, an extraordinary session of the club’s Board of Directors was held today, where members of the Board of Directors, led by president Dubravko Barbarić, submitted their resignations.
It was concluded how the leadership of the club no longer has political support at the level of the municipalities of Sarajevo, the City of Sarajevo, the County of Sarajevo and the Federation of BiH when it comes to further strategic decisions of KK Bosnia.
At the club meeting he got no guarantees that the matches in the next season, considering the security conditions and the established calendar of events, will be able to be played in Skenderija, nor that planned renovation of the roof and the renovation of the interior of the hall to be completed by the beginning of the new season. Also, to questions from the club’s leadership about the reasons for the reduction of financial support from the City of Sarajevo this year and the complete cancellation of financial support from the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo no satisfactory explanations were obtained from the mayor and chief.
The management board believes that the club is about to start a new season should unreserved support of all levels of government and suggests that the biggest donors and sponsors from last season – the Government of Sarajevo County, BH Telecom and the Government of the Federation of BiH – urgently propose a new convocation of the Board of Directors. At the same time, the current members of the Board of Directors request that the new composition does not include persons who held positions in the club’s leadership during the previous mandates.
The former president of the Board of Directors and one of the biggest sponsors of the club, Dubravko Barbarić, will completely retire from the club.
The club continues to carry out its activities regularly and is completely financially stable, announced KK Bosna.
