The Delegation of the Association for the Development of the Economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey – TUBODER visited the Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton of Samir Šibonjić with the aim of considering opportunities for economic cooperation and investment of Turkish investors in this canton. During the meeting, the investment ambience in ZDK, potentials of key economic branches, as well as institutional support that the Ministry provides foreign investors.
Minister Šibonjić also welcomed the members of the delegation and called business people from Turkey to consider investment in Zenica-Doboj Canton, emphasizing the readiness of the Ministry to provide full support in the realization of future projects.
– Zenica-Doboj Canton is one of the most developed industrial regions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the area of 3,344 km² we offer serious investment opportunities in sectors such as wood and food industry, mineral industry, metal industry, construction and furniture production. Canton achieves a positive foreign trade balance, and provide investors with significant infrastructure support, traffic connection and production conditions. We believe that with the experience and dynamics of Turkish businessmen in our canton, new success stories are written – said Minister Sibonjic.
He added that the Ministry has not been focused exclusively on economic projects, but also on the development of wider social cooperation.
– Our cultural and social ties with Turkey are deep and strong. We are ready for joint projects with non-governmental organizations and representatives of Turkey’s economy in areas such as agriculture, rural development and education – the Minister pointed out.
The industrial zone of Vozuća in the municipality of Zavidovići was also discussed, where the incentives for investors will be offered. Minister Šibonjić explained that thanks to the logistical advantages, the ride will become an attractive center for both domestic and foreign investors, and announced a series of incentive packages for future investments.
– The ride is not just an industrial zone – it will play a key role in the economic development of our canton. Investors who choose to do business in this area, infrastructure support, tax relief and different other benefits will be enabled. We support all production and industrial activities that new jobs are made – said Minister Šibonjić.
The President of Tuboder Yaşar Tufan thanked Minister Šibonjić on hospitality, emphasizing that Zenica-Doboj Canton has the potential to become one of the key centers for Turkish investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
– Like a tubider, we’re ready to be a bridge between Turkey and Zenica. This visit is an important step in establishing cooperation between the business community and institutions in this region – said Tufan.
The meeting was also attended by Elvir Ajanović, Organizer of the General BH Fair ZEPS Zenica, which will take place from 10. to 13. September 2025. Years. He emphasized that the Fair organizers provide full support to the Ministry of Economy Initiatives.
