The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has scheduled the 10th extraordinary plenary session for today, where it will decide on the merits of the appeal filed by Milorad Dodik, it was announced from this court. The session will be held online starting at 1:00 p.m., and Dodik’s appeal (case AP-3722/25) is the only item on the agenda in the part of decisions on the merits.
Goran Bubić, Dodik’s lawyer, stated that the published agenda did not stipulate that the Constitutional Court would also consider the appeal filed on September 5 in relation to the decision of the Central Election Commission /CIK/ of Bosnia and Herzegovina to revoke the mandate of the president and call early elections for the president of Republika Srpska.
“Only the appeal against the criminal verdict is on the agenda. This can be seen in the number, because the number for the appeal is different compared to the CEC’s decision,” explained Bubić.
He added that there is a possibility that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will combine the cases.
“I don’t see a draft of the decision. Usually it is a draft. For now /on the court’s website/ there is that agenda,” said Bubić.
The extraordinary session of the Constitutional Court, which will decide on the merits of the appeal, is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
The Court of BiH sentenced Milorad Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity for disobeying the decisions of the High Representative in BiH, Kristijan Šmit. The appeal against the judgment of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina was submitted to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as this is a necessary step for this case to be brought before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. In addition to this, Dodik’s legal team also submitted an appeal to the Constitutional Court of BiH against the CEC’s decision to revoke the president’s mandate and call early elections for the president of Republika Srpska.
